So, after months/years of planning, and 2 pre-nup sessions (XD), Jimbo and Shayla finally tied the knot (in a church, because, well, they’re already civilly married) last June 4, 2010. Yay. :D Actually, you know something? I did not even expect to be there. Why, you ask? Well, it’s simple. See, Toto and Carlo were the ones who were really supposed to shoot the wedding. Jamie and Gracielle also planned to go because… just because. And since I knew Jimbo and Shy were really cutting down on expenses, I didn’t really want to insist on my going, because I would be another mouth to feed. However, you know God works in mysterious ways, right?

What happened, you ask? Gracielle got a Palawan wedding on the day of Jimbo and Shy’s wedding, with Jamie as the backup, so I could finally come along to this wedding. (Side note: if you’re trying not spend too much on food during your own wedding, invite all those who are sure not to come, those with earlier obligations. See? Instant savings! XD). Then, Carlo had to beg off of the wedding because he was planning to do something for his girlfriend for her birthday (yeah, I would choose that too, actually… XD), so I became Toto’s backup. Amazing, right? :D And Dennis was free to act as third photographer. So we were all set, right? :D

Whoo, 2nd December 24 wedding! :D On a side note, yes, I am not going to be posting in chronological order anymore. Aside from the fact that it’s predictable (it is, really! I swear! XD)… well, there, I just don’t want to be predictable. Yay. XD

Weddings at Work had this poll for suppliers earlier this year (you’d think it’s already late 2010 XD), asking for their most memorable wedding of 2009. I didn’t get to submit this wedding at all (because well… I was busy), but for me, this is my most memorable wedding of 2009. Why, you ask? Well, plenty of reasons. :D

1. Jason and Anna are one of the coolest, goregeousest (yes, that’s not a word :P ) couples I’ve ever shot;
2. It was December 24 (um, duh!) and it was in Tagatay (meaning it was cold!);
3. Despite the fact that it was the day before Christmas and the couple flew in all the way from Guam, they still had plenty of guests. As in the house was packed! I mean, fine, granted that pretty much all of their guests are home for the holidays, still, it was a big thing for them to be away from home and other loved ones to attend Jason and Anna’s wedding, and that was a big, touching thing for these people to do. Kudos to them. :D And finally;
4. On the way to the wedding, we saw a really big traffic accident (yes, the grotesque, misshapen cars are still in my mind. Thank God there were no bodies to be seen.), and it reminded us of the fact that we’re thankful we’re still alive to enjoy Christmas with our loved ones, and it also reminded us to take our time going home. Yes, this had nothing to do with the wedding. Sue me. :P

For me personally (and people who know me well know I am my own worst critic), Jason and Anna’s pre-nup was one of the best shoots I’ve ever done. Would their wedding match up or surpass their pre-nup? I think it did. ;)

In 2008, I had a pre-nup in La Luz with Sir Jong. In 2009, I got a pre-nup with Sir Jong (this one). Will next year bring me another pre-nup in La Luz with Sir Jong? XD Just curious. Hehe.

Anyway, this was last November 27. And the next day was me and Sir Jong in a wedding. Was I crazy coming along for this shoot? I don’t care, it was worth it. :D

Chris and Anna are two of the nicest people I’ve ever met, and they were a gorgeous couple as well. :D I pretty much talked their ears off as we made our way to La Luz (it was more than a four hour trip XD), and Anna couldn’t sleep because she had make-up on (courtesy of the Make-Up Studio), and to sleep was to ruin it. Haha. XD It was cool, because I got to know them more. For example, our pre-nup location was actually an exercise of irony for Chris, because he can’t swim. Or was it because he was afraid of water? Something like that. But he did a good job anyway with the pre-nup. :D

Again, I apologize for not being able to update so quickly. Pretty much half of the month of December, I had shoots, so there was no time, really. :D But I will leave you with this on-site slideshow of Jason and Anna’s wedding last December 24. It’s my latest on-site, and I lahvet. Haha. XD

The song is “I Will Love You”, sung by Fisher. I shot this with Toto Villaruel and Myra Ho. Thank you also to everyone who was with me that day, as we all know December 24 is like totally lazy day, the day before Christmas, but we all did our tasks well. :D

Again, Happy New Year and hope you enjoy the video! :D

Who needs beach resorts? XD

December 17, 2009

For Imagine Nation Photography, shot with Toto Villaruel, last November 21.

So here’s the thing. Jet and Vien, who are getting married next year, January 9, 2010, planned to have their pre-nup in a certain beach resort in Batangas, a four-hour drive. The comedy was, Toto thought that we were going to have the pre-nup in Puerto Galera. Kind of far for a back-and-forth trip, right? Good thing he was wrong. XD After a delicious lunch in Tagaytay, we continued on our way, and when we were despairing of ever reaching it, we finally did!

The not-so-funny part was when we discovered that even though the couple’s contact already told the management of the resort that we were going to have a pre-nup there, the resort people asked us again what we planned to do. After discovering that we were gonna do a pre-nup, they said that the price for that was… wait for it… P20,000! HOLY! But wait, there’s more. After the front desk people contacted one of the managers or whoever, it was no longer P20K. It was now P30K. Hahahahaha… not funny.

I mean seriously, the intention was already stated. Why didn’t management tell their contact that BEFORE we pushed through with our plans, considering it takes a long time to get to their resort from Manila? Talk about inconsiderate.

So, annoyed, dejected, pissed, etc., we packed up our stuff and left. Thanks a lot you stupid resort, you ruined the trip. But thankfully, Toto thought of a place where we could shoot. Where this place was, I won’t tell you. XD But we did get amazing photos.
