So Rae decided that for Father’s day, she wanted to bring me (and of course by extension, Eos XD) to Pampanga and eat from various places there in one day. I’m never one to say no to food. My problem was more of getting out of Manila haha. XD This also became like a test, because we’ve always wondered how Eos would handle just being in the car for long periods of time. So…
Because we weren’t really in a hurry (we figured to arrive in Pampanga around lunch time), we took photos of Eos first haha.
After this, we left the house. So pro tip, if you don’t have a power bank, Waze-ing really takes a toll on your battery, so yeah, buy a power bank. Or get that attachment where you can charge your device in the car. Also, getting out of Manila is a biatch, but once you’re in NLEX and past the toll booth, you’re free! Unless a truck crashes and blocks both sides of NLEX, but I digress.
So, remember the test I was talking about, where we wanted to see how Eos would be on a “long” road trip? Let’s say he didn’t really feel like sleeping/behaving. So we stopped at the big Petron with a Starbucks, and hung out there first.
Okay, so after we (read: Me and Rae) rested and recovered, we continued our journey to Pampanga, yay. Our first stop was 19 Copung-Copung. So, Rae picked this place because somebody recommended it to her. That simple. Haha. XD She also wanted to try out the frog legs. Also, Waze is not accurate regarding this place. It made us turn left somewhere, but the actual place was still further ahead. So… yeah, just be on the lookout. XD It has a big sign anyway.
After our lunch, we headed over to a nearby Susie’s Cuisine branch (located inside an Oceana gas station).
Because we had time to kill, we wandered around SM Pampanga first. And of course we had to make sure the food went down so that we could eat dinner. Hahaha. XD Anyway… so, around night time, we drove to our next destination, Café Fleur by Chef Sau Del Rosario. From SM, it took us 30 minutes to get there, and we also had a problem again with Waze, so if you plan to swing by, best be careful with the directions. ^^
And so yeah, that ended our food trip! We headed home, bellies stuffed, not wanting to do this again for a while (because you know, the food’s heavy XD), and our sisig craving satisfied, yay. And while Eos was still hard to manage in the car (can’t blame him ^^), we made it.
Until the next food trip! Or blog entry. Haha. XD
