Looking to suit up and be dapper for any occasion? Check out MLCK Manila! Wow, talk about getting straight to the point. Haha. Now for the longer version. XD
Pronounced as “milk”, MLCK started back in 2008 when the proprietress, Kc Mempin, who is a stylist (she does prenup styling, corporate styling, celebrity styling, you name it!), was styling Vic Sotto (ooh, Bossing!) for a show, and she was to find a new suit supplier/designer for the next tapings for the show. Was that confusing? Sorry, I suck sometimes at putting a coherent thought together, lolz. XD Anyway, she had two weeks to find somebody to make suits for Vic Sotto, and luckily she found a tailor who could do the job. But more importantly, the wheels in her head started turning, and she realized that it was a business opportunity in the making.
It wasn’t hard for her to start with the suits business, since she was already in the industry (her primary clients were and still are celebrities), and because she considers herself lucky enough to have found a tailor who met her requirements. It’s a bit harder now though, since there have been new tailors and haberdasheries entering the industry.
What makes MLCK different from the rest though, is first of all, because of Kc’s experience with celebrity clients, the suits they make (even with tight deadlines) are still comfortable and visually appealing in person and in front of the camera. So that’s already a plus! Sort of rushed jobs that still look and feel great, what more could one ask for in a suit, right? Also, to quote Kc directly, “MLCK suits are made through a collaborative process with the client always in mind all through out. …It is not just about the suits and the process. It’s about the story behind each suit and the experience through the service given to them whenever and wherever it is convenient for them.”
I think their clients would agree with this. 😀 Kc says that most of the time, her clients just trust her enough that they tell her to just surprise them. The trust she gets from her clients excites her (and if you’ve met Kc already, you know she’s really FULL of energy and positive vibes) to do her best. She envisions the MLCK style to always be “a style experience tailored to our clients’ ideas, expertly and professionally executed by us.”
I did a photo shoot for them last year, and I enjoyed it so much, which is why I’m sharing this. 😀 Hehe.
First we feature Kc’s husband Jmie (who is a director), looking oh so dapper in his MLCK suit.
Check out the suit cut and fit. No neckties needed!
Even the vest is just perfect!
Now for the fun part: Kc joins in on the shoot! 😀 Who says looking dapper are only for men? And that suit! I wish I could carry off her look. XD Oh, and Jmie is now wearing different long sleeves to complement Kc’s look. Awesome funky goodness!
This time, Jmie lets his hair down, yay. 😀
Details closeup. 😀
Wearing a suit doesn’t mean you have to be stuck with formal shoes, right? 😀
Sorry, took some photos too not on the details of the suits. I wanted to play around, what can I say? XD
Loved how they just both exuded style and attitude in their MLCK suits! 😀
